041/15/Tech. New Port State Control Requirement for “Vector Management Plan” applicable for Vessels Calling Kandla / Indian Port (Rev.2015)

Dear Sirs,

INTRODUCTION
The purpose of the present IMC GROUP P.C. newsletter, is to update Managers / Operators, whose vessels are calling Kandla / Indian Port, with respect to a new Port State Control requirement for Vector Management Plan.

APPLICATION
Vessels calling Kandla / Indian Port need to be provided with a Vector Management Plan, indicating specific instructions with respect to storage of mooring ropes, management of food wastes, management of hazard for vector infestation and attractions during port stay, management & installation of rat guards, etc.

The developed Vector Management Plan needs to be in compliance with Guide to Ship Sanitation, 3rd Edition – 2011, Chapters 7 & 8.

ELABORATION
IMC GROUP P.C. has developed model manual for plan and procedures for Vector Management Plan, in compliance with Guide to Ship Sanitation, 3rd Edition – 2011, Chapters 7 & 8. The developed manual is applicable for various types of ships including, but not limited to General Cargo, Bulk Carrier, Reefer, Tanker, LPG, LNG, etc.

Closing, in case your good company’s fleet is regularly visiting or intending to visit Kandla / Indian Port in the near future, and it’s vessels are not provided with a Vector Management Plan, please note, that it will be our pleasure to assist your good company for the development of the Vector Management Plan.
